On May 18, 1945, Alana Stewart was born in San Diego, California, to Alana Kaye Collins. Her father was a drug addict and she was raised in a modest household. Her childhood days were in Nacogdoches, a small East Texas city. Later, she moved to Houston. Then she decided to make her career in modelling and moved to New York. 

She received her diploma from Houston, Texas’s “Stephen F. Austin High School.”

In the early days of her career, she contracted with the “Ford Models” and traveled to Los Angeles to feature in multiple TV spots. She later moved to New York to grow  a career in acting and modelling. Alana was sexually harassed at the age of 8, and in her early days, she was alcohol addicted.

In the 1970s, Alana started her career by starring in the entertainment industry. She first appeared in the Evel Knievel, a biographical movie. Later, she started appearing in cameos on TV shows like The Ionic Woman, Fantasy Island, Hart to Hart, and The Love Boat. In 1995, she and her ex-husband George Hamilton hosted the syndicated talk show, George & Alana. The following year, the show completed. 

In 2003, she was the contestant of the reality TV show, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here. Her appearance in the show made her more more popular. She was also famous for her produced documentary of 90 minutes, “Farrah’s Story.” The documentary was about a fellow model Farrah Fawcett’s cancer fight, between the years 2006 and 2009. The Farrah’s Story was also nominated for an Emmy award.

She made her cameo appearance as Claudia Muller, the mother of Lara Muller DeVanity and Dr. Portia Muller Roth, in a 2012 episode of the Caruso|Portier web series DeVanity. In 2015, she made an additional appearance in the reality documentary series “Stewarts & Hamiltons.”

The Farrah Fawcett Foundation, which supports cancer patients and finances cancer research, is led by Alana as president. She has played role in several popular TV shows, including Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Extra, and The Today Show with Meredith Viera.

For Farrah’s Story, Alan was the recipient of the esteemed Genii Award for American Women in Radio and Television, which recognizes excellence in documentary film-making. Alana received the “True Grit Humanitarian Award” by the John Wayne Cancer Institute in April 2011. The only other recipients were Bonnie Hunt, Larry King, and Nancy Reagan.

Alana supported Marianne Williamson, as she her close friend. She was with her in 2014 campaign for U.S. Congress in the California. And in 2016 and 2020, she voted for the Donald Trump. Alana married George Hamilton, an actor and co-star, in 1972. Ashley Hamilton, their son, went on to become an actor and songwriter as well. After divorce in 1975, Alana and George continued to collaborate and stay in contact with one another.

Afterwards, in 1997, she Married rock star Rod Stewart. Sean, their son, and Kimberly, their daughter, are both involved in show business. When Alana discovered that Rod Stewart was having an affair with a model who was fifteen years her junior, she filed for divorce from him in 1984. She always thought they were the ideal couple, so the breakup had a significant effect on her life. She chose to keep her last name as a result, and she hasn’t had an affair since her divorce.

George Hamilton, her ex-husband, sent her to renowned author Deepak Chopra, who transformed her life by teaching her how to meditate, to help her deal with her depression. She gave up her vices after realizing the long-term effects of drugs on her life. Alana began attending church and developing a faith in God. She says that accepting the things, forgiving others, and moving with the life is the only way to say bye to depression.

Alana battled from the “Epstein-Barr virus” for 20 years. Later she diagnosed and got appropriate treatment. She started talking about her disease in 1994 to spread public awareness of the disease’s treatment options. Because her breast implants contributed to the illness, she had to have them removed. She supported her close friend, Farrah Fawcett, in her  against cancer.

Who is Rod Stewart, Alana’s ex-husband? 

Rod Stewart is a British national and a Capricorn by sign because he was born in Highgate, London, England on January 10, 1945. He became well-known as a rock singer and songwriter in the late 1960s and early 1970s after performing with The Jeff Beck Group.

Their English mother was a housewife and their Scottish father was a master builder; Rod grew up with his five siblings. Rod was a great football player and captain of the school football team at William Grimshaw Secondary Modern School. In January 1959, his father gifted him the guitar and then he joined his first band. When he was just 15, he left school to try to sign with Brentford FC as a professional football player. Rod joined the blues group Steampacket in July 1965, and the group went on tour with The Rolling Stones and The Walker Brothers. Rod departed the band in March 1966.

In 1967, Rod joined The Jeff Beck Group, but he early left the group in 1969. After that he released his solo albums and they became hit. He was also a member of The Faces from 1969 until its dissolution in 1975.

In recognition of his services to British music and charity, Rod was knighted in 2016. In 2012, he published his first book as a writer, titled “Rod: The Autobiography.”

Rod suffered from the thyroid cancer in 2000. To treat the cancer, he gone through the surgery and it was successful. Following his recovery, he donated money to The City of Hope Foundation, an organization dedicated to the search for a cancer treatment. He got a prostate cancer diagnosis in 2017, but the same year, a successful treatment was administered. He has a good collection of luxury cars, currently he owns 400 Ferrari Enzo, but his $50,000 Porsche was stolen in Los Angeles once.

Following his divorce from Alana, he wed the well-known model and actress from New Zealand, Rachel Hunter, in 1990. The two later got divorce in 2006; they are childless. He married to British model and photographer Penny Lancaster-Stewart since 2007.
